Hummocks Trail is a must-visit and must-see place, it runs along beautiful hummocks and clear ponds, which were created after the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. These hummocks are special knolls, which were created after the eruption by the blocks of the mountain’s summits. The trail passes small ponds with clear water, curves around the hummocks and offers great possibilities for relaxation and restoration. After the eruption many scientists thought it would be difficult to restore the life in this region, but, Nature decided in a different way. Surprisingly, animals, birds, insects as well as wildflowers returned here very quickly.

lots of dead tree stumps all over the place …… obviously the HUMANS trashed the place and left ; that is what the human race is best at ….. destroying everything and then go to the next place to ravish the hell out of that one .
could easily have planted some new trees to help nature along …. but no .
