    I visit Skye every year as my mum and dad's ashes are scattered at Dunvegan. I live in Glasgow so it takes me several hours to drive up, which is why I tend to travel in either late Autumn or just before Easter when the roads are quiet. Once you get up past Fort William you can drive for miles without seeing any traffic on the roads. If you like solitude it's a great time to go to the island, as during the summer the roads can get quite busy. Sure it rains a lot in Scotland, but that is why it is so green.
