Don't blame the Asias blame the Europeans…guns conquest, colonization and modern day machinery able to decimate entire forests. Gold and diamonds were alway seen as beautiful objects until Europeans conquered/colonized parts of Africa and put a price on these materials (capitalism). Don't blame the Asians they used to live as one with the land until capitalism
